Icehouse

ICEHOUSE was formed by Iva Davies and are one of those bands who have managed to transcend age groups with a career spanning 40 years.  Generations of music lovers have been brought up with hits such as Crazy, Electric Blue, We Can Get Together, Great Southern Land, Hey Little Girl and Man Of Colours to name a few. ICEHOUSE have sold over three million albums locally, more than nine million internationally have achieved 28 platinum album sales in Australasia. They have had eight Top 10 albums and more than 30 Top 40 singles. ICEHOUSE and Iva Davies have won many awards including the Countdown Award for the Most Popular Male Performer and ARIA Awards for the Best Album and Highest Selling Album for Man of Colours. The band was inducted in the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2006. In June 2013 Iva was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for ‘significant service to the music and entertainment industry’ as a songwriter and performer, and to the community. One of Australia’s greatest live acts, they are set to present a show not to be missed.

Sunnyboys

On April 22nd 2012 for the first time in 21 years, all four original members of Sydney based band Sunnyboys walked on-stage at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre and performed as guests of the Hoodoo Gurus on their Dig it Up! Invitational.

From the opening chords of little known track As I Walk to the closing notes of the band’s most well know song Alone With You, it was as if time stood still. Appearing under the pseudonym Kids In Dust the band played with all the energy, verve and joy as they had all those years ago. It was emotional and inspired and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Some thirty years earlier, Sunnyboys had arrived in Sydney seemingly fully-formed. Brothers Peter and Jeremy Oxley(bass guitar and guitar / vocals respectively) and drummer Bil Bilson, were natives of Kingscliff on the NSW north coast. They had performed together in that environment in their early teens before, in 1979, both Peter and Bil ventured south to study and perform, Peter with the Shy Impostors and Bil with the Playboy Lords. With his schooling complete, Jeremy arrived a year later to attend art college and maybe start a band.

The Church

For 35 years, the church has remained one of music’s greatest enigmas, exuding surreal psychedelia and opiated dronescapes. Already, 2015 has seen significant strides in church revivalism, as their impermeable influence resonates with industry and listeners alike.

“[the church] have produced one of the most solid, hook-filled, and substantial catalogues in all of rock ’n’ roll” – Rolling Stone U.S., 2015.

After smashing 2014 with 25th album release Further/Deeper, a nomination under Rolling Stone Australia’s Album of the Year category, an exclusive album-only tour (Further/Deeper Part One), keynote and performance appearances at BIGSOUND, a multitude of festival performances, and rave reviews, the church have launched into 2015 with worldwide campaign, having completed a comprehensive 24 date US tour in February-March, a SXSW showcase and interview panel appearance moderated by seminal Rolling Stone editor David Fricke, and a European tour and performance at the prestigious Primavera Sounds festival. Now off the back of their critically lauded and near-sold out Further Deeper/The Blurred Crusade national tour, a stellar performance at Splendour in the Grass, and yet another sold-out, 30 date US tour with the Psychedelic Furs, the church are back on solid ground ready to take to 2016 by storm.

Do Re Mi

In 1982, two Melbournites and two Sydneysiders – Deborah Conway/Dorland Bray, and Stephen Philip/Helen Carter respectively – released their first independent record, which appeared with no title except for the band’s name and little other information. It became known as the green EP, partly because it was released on the label of the same name, and partly because the cover was, well, green.

Mental as Anything

Forty years of recording and touring and the show goes on.  A fresh 5 track EP release titled “Mental as Anything – 5 Track EP” and a prime slot on the national Apia Good Times Tour sees Mentals rocketing into the future.

The EP sees Greedy and Martin trading songs in their time-honoured tradition.

Martin is currently off the road but Greedy and he are still creating new songs with that Mental Flavour.
